Lester Crest is a central supporting character in Grand Theft Auto V and a major mission giver in Grand Theft Auto Online. He is a highly skilled hacker, planner and criminal strategist who assists Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton, Trevor Philips and the GTA Online Protagonist across several major heists.

Background

Lester was born with a wasting disease that severely reduced his muscle strength and left him dependent on a wheelchair, though he can walk short distances with a cane. Despite his physical limitations, he developed genius-level technical skills and became one of the most capable heist planners in the GTA universe.

Events of Grand Theft Auto V

In Grand Theft Auto V, Lester reconnects with Michael De Santa after years of silence and helps him plan the Vangelico jewelry store robbery. He later becomes the main planner behind several heists and assassination jobs, ultimately helping Michael, Franklin and Trevor pull off the Union Depository score.

Events of Grand Theft Auto Online

In Grand Theft Auto Online, Lester becomes one of the player character’s most important criminal contacts. He introduces the player to heists, assists with the Fleeca Job, the Pacific Standard Job, The Doomsday Heist and The Diamond Casino Heist, and also operates under the alias Long John Teabag for Motorcycle Club businesses.

Lester is intelligent, paranoid, socially awkward and highly sarcastic. He is deeply knowledgeable about technology, politics, corporations and criminal operations. While physically limited, he compensates with planning ability, hacking skills and an obsessive attention to detail.
