Events of Grand Theft Auto V

In Grand Theft Auto V, Hao is first met as a random encounter in Strawberry, where he challenges Franklin Clinton to a street race against him and his friends. After this first race, Franklin can take part in additional street races around Los Santos. Hao also appears during Father/Son when Franklin brings Amanda De Santa's car to Los Santos Customs, and during Gauntlet if the subtle approach for The Big Score is selected.

Events of Grand Theft Auto Online

In Grand Theft Auto Online, Hao appears in the LS Car Meet introduction during Los Santos Tuners and helps introduce the player to the car meet scene. In 2022, he establishes Hao's Special Works inside the LS Car Meet, offering high-performance upgrades and time trials. He later appears or is referenced in content connected to The Chop Shop and Money Fronts.

Appearance

Hao wears a muscle shirt with a crucifix pendant and has tattoos on his arm. In his later Grand Theft Auto Online appearance, he wears a white muscle shirt and has tattoos on both arms.

Trivia

Hao appears to dislike Lamar Davis, referring to him negatively in an email to Franklin. He seems to be inspired by Big Lou from Need for Speed: Most Wanted, with his personal Penumbra also resembling Big Lou's Mitsubishi Eclipse GT.
