Devin Weston is a central character and the main antagonist of Grand Theft Auto V. He is an American billionaire, investor and venture capitalist with major business interests across Los Santos and San Andreas, including a major share in Merryweather Security.

Background

Weston is a wealthy American businessman who owns shares in numerous companies, including hotel chains, alcohol brands, entertainment ventures and private security interests. His most important connection is Merryweather Security, whose resources he uses as muscle for his business and criminal interests. He also has influence within law enforcement through his relationship with FIB agent Steve Haines.

Events of Grand Theft Auto V

Devin Weston becomes involved with Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton and Trevor Philips after Steve Haines introduces him to the group. He offers Michael a chance to work with Solomon Richards while also hiring Franklin and Trevor to steal a series of luxury cars. Weston later refuses to pay them properly and attempts to destroy Michael and Solomon's film project for financial gain. After Molly Schultz dies while fleeing Michael, Weston retaliates by sending Merryweather mercenaries to Michael's home.

Ending

In the canon ending The Third Way, Devin Weston is stripped of his Merryweather support after Michael, Franklin and Trevor eliminate their enemies. Trevor kidnaps Weston from his mansion, places him in the trunk of his own car and takes him to a cliff in Blaine County. Michael, Franklin and Trevor then push the car over the edge, causing it to crash and explode, killing Weston.

Personality

Devin Weston is arrogant, narcissistic, greedy, manipulative and highly self-important. He constantly reminds others of his wealth and influence, often pretending to be friendly while looking down on them. Despite his public image of health, success and positive thinking, he is ruthless, vindictive and willing to use private military force to protect his interests.

Devin Weston has his own website, bedevinweston.com. His favorite radio station appears to be Los Santos Rock Radio. He is possibly inspired by Howard Hughes due to his billionaire status, Hollywood connections, investment interests and fascination with aircraft.
